Refund Policy

Last updated · Osama Saeed, trading as Caprastacks

Try the whole thing free for one calendar month without a card. That is where you decide. Once you have paid we do not refund a change of mind — but we always refund our own mistakes, and your books export whenever you want them.

Decide during the free trial

Every account starts with a free trial of one calendar month, and it takes no card. It is the real product, not a cut-down demo: your own books, your own data, your own people. Nothing is charged and nothing can be charged, because we never took a card to charge.

That trial is the real test. Load a few weeks of real work into it and you will know whether Caprastacks fits the way you actually run your business — which is the one thing a refund window cannot tell you any better.

After you pay

Once a payment has gone through, we do not refund a payment because you have changed your mind, and we do not refund part of a period you have used. There is no pro-rata.

We would rather say that here, before you buy, than be vague about it and argue later. You had the whole product for one calendar month without paying, and the software is delivered to you in full the moment the payment clears.

What we do refund, always

The cases below are our error, not your second thoughts. Write to us and we refund them — you do not have to argue, and there is no time limit on us being wrong:

  • You were charged after you cancelled.
  • You were charged twice for the same period.
  • You were charged for something we could not deliver, or for capacity you never received.
  • The amount taken is not the amount the checkout showed you.

Renewals are announced before they are charged

A paid plan renews automatically, and you are never meant to be surprised by it. Before each renewal we email the account owner with the date it renews, and the amount once that figure has been confirmed with Paddle. Cancelling before that date stops the next charge, and the period you have already paid for runs to its end with your access intact.

So a renewal you did not want is something you can always stop in advance. If one is charged after you cancelled, that is the first case in the list above and we refund it.

If you are a consumer in the European Union or the United Kingdom

Consumer law in the European Union and the United Kingdom gives a consumer a withdrawal period of 14 days on a distance purchase. That right is the law's, not ours, and nothing on this page reduces it. If it applies to you, use it and we will not argue about whether you also changed your mind.

It is a consumer right. Caprastacks is business software and most accounts here are bought by a company for its own trade, which is normally outside it. Other countries give their own rights, and where your own law gives you more than this page promises, your law wins.

Where this does not apply

  • A plan we set up for you under its own written terms — those terms decide, and they say so.
  • An account suspended for breaking the terms.

Leaving costs you nothing

You keep everything, whenever you go. Every list and report exports to PDF or Excel, and the account owner can export a company's whole dataset — and that keeps working after a plan has run out. Getting your own books out is never something you have to pay for, and never something you have to ask us for.

This is not the only thing that governs a refund

Card payments for Caprastacks are sold through Paddle, which acts as Merchant of Record. Paddle is legally the seller for those payments: it takes the money, issues the invoice in its own name, and can issue a refund on its own decision without asking us.

Separately, consumer law in some countries gives you rights we cannot sign away. Nothing on this page reduces your statutory rights under your own law.

How to ask

Email osama@caprastacks.com from the address on the account, or use the chat on any page — it reaches the same person. Tell us which payment you mean; you do not need a reference number, we can find it.

We answer refund requests within two working days. A refund goes back to the card it came from, and how long it takes to appear is your bank's business rather than ours — usually a few days.
