My bank or cash balance in the app does not match my bank. How do I fix it?
Correct balance brings the account in line with one dated entry. Old entries stay as they are.
When payments were recorded on the wrong cash or bank account, or fees were never entered, the balance in the app drifts away from the real one. You do not have to fix every old entry.
If you can find the wrong entry, correct or delete that entry instead. Use Correct balance when you cannot, or when there are too many.
1. Open Bank reconciliation in Accounting, the account's statement, or its row on the chart of accounts, and choose Correct balance.
2. Enter a date and the balance your bank shows for that day. The app shows what your books say and the difference.
3. Say where the difference came from: another of your own accounts, bank charges or interest, a customer or supplier, your opening balance, or something else.
4. Pick the account (an opening balance needs none), write a short reason, and confirm.
For example, your books say Main bank has 52,000 on 30 September, but the statement says 51,000. On the statement you find a 1,000 cash withdrawal that was never entered. Choose another of your own accounts, then Cash in hand. Main bank falls to 51,000 and Cash in hand rises by 1,000, because that is where the money went. Had the 1,000 been bank charges, you would choose bank charges instead, and your expenses would rise by 1,000.
One journal entry is posted on that date, with your reason on it. If the other side is an income or expense account, your profit changes. Depending on your company's settings, the app shows by how much and asks you to confirm first, or does not allow it.
Made a mistake? Undo it from the account's card on Bank reconciliation. Only the newest correction on an account can be undone.
You need full access to Bank reconciliation to do this.
Still not sure? Ask it in the chat in the corner — no account needed, and a person answers whatever the assistant can't.
How do I add a customer or a supplier?
Chart of accounts → New account → Type: Party, then say whether they are a customer, a supplier or both.
How do I enter my opening balances?
Opening balances carry your existing books into the app. Enter them once, before day-to-day work.
How do I record a payment I received or made?
Payments → New payment: pick the party, pick the cash or bank account, enter the amount.
How do I settle a small difference left on a customer or supplier balance?
Clear a rounding remainder, an agreed discount or a bad debt with Settle difference, rather than leaving it on the statement.
