How do I bring my old books in from Tally, QuickBooks or a spreadsheet?
Data import, in two steps: first your people and items, then where you stand today. Owner only, and undoable.
Data import brings an existing business over. It runs in two steps, and they are deliberately separate:
1. Your people and your items — customers, suppliers, and the things you buy and sell. No money is involved, so nothing here can go wrong in your books.
2. Where you stand today — what each customer owes you, what you owe suppliers, the money you hold, and the stock on your shelves, all as of one date.
Do step one first and check it looks right. Step two is the one that touches your books, and it is much safer once the names and items it refers to are already correct.
Download the template for the step you are on, fill it in, and upload it. You get a chance to review what was read before anything is added, and an undo afterwards if it is not what you wanted.
Only the account owner can import. It is the largest write there is — thousands of entries at once — so it is never something a staff member can be given.
Still not sure? Ask it in the chat in the corner — no account needed, and a person answers whatever the assistant can't.
How do I add a staff member and control what they can see?
Settings → Staff. Add the person, then switch on only the areas they need.
How do I change my currency, date format or decimals?
Settings → Preferences. It applies everywhere in the app immediately.
Where do I change my company name, address or logo?
Company profile, under Settings. Owner only. What you put there is what prints on your documents.
Why was I signed out when someone else signed in?
One account can only be signed in on one device at a time.
