When do I use a stock adjustment?
Count corrections fix a wrong number; write-offs record stock that is genuinely gone.
Use a count correction when the app's figure does not match what is on the shelf and nothing has actually been lost — a miscount or a missed entry.
Use a write-off when stock is genuinely gone: damaged, expired or stolen. The value comes off your books as a loss, costed from the batches it came from, so the loss recorded is the real one.
Still not sure? Ask it in the chat in the corner — no account needed, and a person answers whatever the assistant can't.
