What a product is (0:00) In this video, we'll add your products. A product is anything your factory buys, packs or makes. The powders you buy, like paracetamol. The packing, like foil and boxes. And the tablets you make and sell.
Add paracetamol, the medicine (0:16) Open Settings, and press Open Products. Your list is empty for now. Press New product. Let's start with the medicine itself: paracetamol. Type its name. How is it counted? Powder is weighed, so pick Kilogram. Under Stock, choose Batch and expiry. Every delivery then gets its own batch number and expiry date. In a medicine factory, always choose this.
Its role and shelf life (0:46) Now scroll to Manufacturing. The role tells the app what this product is for. Paracetamol is the medicine itself, so pick Active ingredient. Write how to store it, like below 25 degrees, and its shelf life in months. You can leave the other boxes empty for now. Press Save product.
Packing: the foil (1:08) Now some packing. Each strip of 10 tablets is made from two rolls: clear plastic film for the pockets, and aluminium foil for the back. Let's add the foil. Type its name. Foil is weighed, so pick Kilogram. Choose Batch and expiry. For the role, pick Primary packaging: packing that touches the tablet. Packing usually doesn't expire, so you can leave shelf life empty. Save.
Bulk tablets (1:38) Next, the loose tablets your machine presses, before they're packed. We call them bulk tablets. Type the name, and count them in pieces. Choose Batch and expiry. For the role, pick Intermediate: something you make, then use to make something else. Add storage and shelf life, and save.
The boxed tablets you sell (1:59) Last, the boxed tablets you sell: 10 strips in each box. Type the name. Count them in boxes, so pick Box. Choose Batch and expiry again. For the role, pick Finished good. Add storage and shelf life, and save.
The full list (2:17) Add the rest the same way: the helper powders, the plastic film, the printed cartons, the leaflets and the shipper cartons. Here's the full list: twelve products for one box of paracetamol.
Step two, done (2:31) Once you have one thing you buy and one thing you make, this step is done. The app shows you what's next. That's step two, done. In the next video, we'll add your suppliers and customers.
